Here are 9 ways to deal with anxiety and depression:

Count your blessings. Write down ten things you are grateful for. Each morning when you wake up, add another item to your list. Focus on what you have as opposed to what you don't.

Set goals. Focus on your future endeavors instead of your present problems. Write down ten things you want to do with your life. Each morning when you wake up, add another item to your list.

Don't swear. The words you use control your emotional state.

Don't listen to violent or depressing music. Music is hypnotic. Be careful of the lyrics in songs. Music also controls your emotional state.

Don't be negative and avoid negative people. I have a few friends who are extremely negative all the time. It's contagious. After a few hours of being around them, I start to develop a bad attitude.

Don't get angry. When someone cuts you off in traffic, let it go. It's not that big of a deal. Always assume the other person is innocent.

Get angry. When life's problems bring you down, don't have a pity party. Stop your whining and do something about it.

Get enough sleep. Lack of sleep can cause irritability.

Give. Jesus was right when he said "It is more blessed to give then receive." Blessed means bringing happiness, pleasure, or contentment. Put yourself in the shoes of someone who doesn't have as much as you. Don't forget what others have done for you in the past.
